‘Tis the Season for Live Christmas Shows in Myrtle Beach
As we roll past October and into the heart of fall, it won’t be too long before Christmas is upon us. And along the Grand Strand that means the start of another amazing season of festive live Christmas shows at area theaters. From classic and nostalgic to contemporary interpretations, the Christmas shows of Myrtle Beach truly have something for everyone! Here are a couple of the biggest Christmas stage shows that you can enjoy on a fall vacation to Myrtle Beach.
Christmas at Pirates Voyage
For a jolly Christmas show with swashbuckling flair, Pirates Voyage puts on one of Myrtle Beach’s most exciting holiday displays. As you and your fellow guests enter the huge Pirates Voyage auditorium you will look out over the huge aquatic stage with a full-size pirate ship in the center. The show puts its own spin on the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol, with Captain Scrooge confronted by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future to change his ways and learn the true meaning of Christmas. The show even features a live nativity with camels and donkeys. And in addition to the great show, guests will be treated to a delicious four course meal including roasted chicken, pulled pork BBQ and fresh baked apple pie. Christmas at Pirates Voyage runs daily from November 1st through January 4th.
The Christmas Show of the South
The Carolina Opry has long been a remarkable showcase of amazing musicians and dancers, and during the holiday season the Christmas Show of the South is the feature attraction. This magnificent stage celebration of Christmas has dazzled thousands of spectators for over three decades, starring a remarkable cast of tremendous vocal and dance talent. This year, singers include fan favorite Moses Braxton, gospel star Rita Gumm, Nashville recording artist Brad Long and Delvin Choice, a recent featured contestant on The Voice. The dynamic clogging group All That will demonstrate the immense talent that won them an appearance on America’s Got Talent. On top of all the splendid performers on display, the theater itself erupts in festive holiday style, with decorations featuring over five miles of lights, 35 unique Christmas trees, thousands of ornaments and the centerpiece 30-foot tree with over 25,000 lights. The Christmas Show of the South takes place nightly at the Carolina Opry beginning on November 1st, running throughout the holidays until January 4th.
