Halloween Celebrations Along the Grand Strand
Courtney Martin | 27 Sep 2017
Don't look now, but Halloween is just around the corner! This spooky, fun-filled holiday comes to life in Myrtle Beach, where area events bring locals and visitors together for some frightfully thrilling celebrations! If your beach getaway brings you to the area during late October, be sure to check out these exciting, festive experiences.
Halloween on the Marshwalk
Make your way down to Murrells Inlet for an evening of thrills and chills on the MarshWalk. Peppered with a variety of shops and restaurants, and situated along the picturesque waterfront, the MarshWalk is the best place to spend Halloween on the south end of the Grand Strand. Bring the kids out for trick-or-treating at 5pm, followed by a costume contest, where prizes will be awarded for the scariest, funniest, and most creative Halloween costumes. Don't worry adults, Halloween on the MarshWalk is not just for kids. Stick around until later for the adult costume contest, which will award more than $2,500 in cash and prizes to the top three costumes. Spend some time on the South Strand when you visit the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk this Halloween!
Broadway at the Beach
Broadway at the Beach is known for its sprawling district of shopping, dining, and entertainment options, but around Halloween, things go up a notch! The fun starts the weekend before Halloween, with Broadway's Bash on the Avenue on Saturday, October 28th from 7pm-until. Guests can jam to live music from DJ Rich, as well as get into all Broadway clubs for free if wearing a costume. This adult event features a costume contest with prizes ranging from $500-$2,000. The fun continues on Halloween night, with door-to-door family-friendly trick-or-treating from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at all of your favorite stores! Keep your eyes peeled for the best costumes as you stroll throughout the area. Be sure to stick around for an extra-special fireworks extravaganza, which takes place over the lake in the center of Broadway!
Myrtle Beach Boardwalk
Head over to the Boardwalk area in the heart of Myrtle Beach for a Halloween filled with things that go "Boo" in the night! Start off with a slight scare at the Nightmare Haunted House, found right on the boulevard! Walk a little further down the strip to encounter Ripley's Haunted Adventure, where you'll be taken through a maze of terrors and spine-tingling sights and sounds, which are sure to get your heart racing! Stay vigilant as you watch out for zombies strolling along Ocean Boulevard on this scariest (and most fun!) night of the year!
Dr. Scream's at the House of Blues
Venture up to the House of Blues for local favorite, Dr. Scream's Scream Park, where you and your friends can experience one of the spookiest events of the season. This year's event features Dr. Scream's Fright Manor, Chuckles Twisted Circus, and Zombie Apocalypse, with all three haunted houses included with the price of admission. Open nightly through October 31st, Dr. Scream's promises plenty of jumps and frights to keep you in the Halloween spirit!
If your Myrtle Beach fall getaway brings you to the area around Halloween, be sure to check out one or all of these spectacularly frightful events! From the South Strand to the heart of Myrtle Beach, there is something for everyone to enjoy this Halloween in Myrtle Beach!
